King County has set up a hotline for home and business owners to report uninsured losses from last week's floods. Individuals with damage to...
King County has set up a hotline for home and business owners to report uninsured losses from last week's floods.
Individuals with damage to report should contact their own insurance company first.
To report uninsured losses, the hotline at King County Emergency Services is 800-523-5044. The hotline will be open Monday, from noon to 4:30 p.m.; and Tuesday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.The county will report estimated losses to the state to seek an emergency declaration for individual assistance from the Federal Emergency Managment Agency. Some uninsured losses might be compensated by FEMA.
Anyone suffering damage should document it with photographs and a written description.

In Snohomish County, damage reports may be filed by calling the county's Department of Emergency Management office at 425-388-5060 or by filling out and returning a damage-assessment form found at www.snoco.org/departments/emergency_management.
