In Issaquah, Issaquah Creek spilled over its banks in several places, at one point severing Sycamore Drive Southeast, the only access road to several dozen homes.
"We've only been here two years and it definitely doesn't give you a warm and fuzzy feeling," said Keith Frasier, watching water spill across his yard and to within four feet of his front door.
"We've got four kids, so we're concerned," he said. "When you look out the window and see water coming into your yard, that's a first."
Neighbors who've been there a long time told him the water hasn't gotten into the houses, but one neighbor planned to help him put sandbags near the front of his house.
Another resident watching the water spill across the road said, "It's pretty impressive. I've been told that if we go out, we night not get back in tonight."
Another neighbor, Fred Nystrom, said water was rising in the 18-inch crawlspace under his home.
But Nystrom, who's been in the neighborhood since 1984, said it wasn't as bad as some floods he's seen in the past.
Officials have told area residents that the high water problem could be worse tonight. and tomorrow.
