A 57-year-old Normandy Park man died Monday evening after his car collided with a guardrail on Highway 509 and veered off the road.

Terrence P. Mueller was driving south on Highway 509, approaching South 160th Street in Burien, when his Toyota Prius slammed into a guardrail on the left-hand side of the road just after 6:40 p.m., according to the State Patrol. The vehicle then crossed back over the highway and left the road on the right-hand side. Mueller died at the scene. The State Patrol is still investigating the cause of the crash.
