Bellevue police investigate suspicious death of woman
Bellevue police are investigating the suspicious death last weekend of a 23-year-old woman, but it could be weeks before her cause of death is known.
Bellevue police are investigating the suspicious death last weekend of a 23-year-old woman, but said it could be weeks before her cause of death is known.
"We don't know if it's accidental or medical. We don't know if a crime was committed," said Bellevue police spokesman Greg Grannis.
Police were called to a house in the 14600 block of Southeast 19th Place just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday after someone called 911 to report the woman's death, he said. She is not a Bellevue resident and Grannis could not say where she lived.
There were no obvious signs of trauma or violence and police did not receive any disturbance calls at the address, Grannis said. It could take several weeks before toxicology tests are completed, he said.
A 26-year-old man who lives at the house where the woman died was arrested on unrelated traffic warrants, Grannis said.
The King County Medical Examiner's Office does not expect to release the woman's name until Tuesday afternoon at the earliest, a death investigator said.
