SEATTLE —

An accident on icy Interstate 90 has blocked the westbound lanes of the freeway in the Rainier Valley area of Seattle.

The accident occurred at 6:10 a.m. Wednesday, and State Patrol Trooper Cliff Pratt told KIRO-TV the delay could last until 9 o'clock because Transportation Department trucks have to plow and sand the site before traffic can resume.
