Snow causes roof collapse at Marysville business

The unrelenting snow is likely to blame for a roof collapse and gas leak at a mobile-home manufacturing business in Marysville, authorities say.

The unrelenting snow is likely to blame for a roof collapse and gas leak at a mobile-home manufacturing business in Marysville, authorities say.

About 7 a.m., the Marysville Fire District got a call reporting the incident at 14219 Smokey Point Blvd., said Kristen Thorstenson, department spokeswoman. When crews arrived, they found a 200-by-600-foot metal structure with the roof falling down and a gas line ruptured.

The gas was shut off and the rest of the small industrial park was evacuated, she said. No one was injured.
