Seattle opening shelters for expected cold snap

With severe cold expected this weekend, Seattle is opening nighttime shelters

With severe cold expected this weekend, Seattle is opening nighttime shelters.

A coed shelter at City Hall on Fourth Avenue will open at 9 p.m.; those needing shelter should line up at 8:30.

Access to a women's shelter is at 2030 Third Ave. Lineup is 7-7:30 p.m.

An overflow shelter for the weekend is at Seattle Center, Pavilion B.

For daytime shelter, the city suggests community centers, Seattle Center and libraries.
