Yakima karate instructor convicted of molestation

A Yakima jury convicted a karate instructor of molesting a 13-year-old girl.

YAKIMA, Wash. —

A Yakima jury convicted a karate instructor of molesting a 13-year-old girl.

The 45-year-old man, Paul Daniel Barr, had been charged with rape but the jury returned the verdict Monday on the lesser charge.

The Yakima Herald Republic reports there was one holdout juror on the rape charge.

Barr molested the girl in 2002 at the Yakima School of Karate where he was an instructor and she was a student.
