W. Washington home prices keep falling

Home prices keep falling in Western Washington.

KIRKLAND, Wash. —

Home prices keep falling in Western Washington.

The Northwest Multiple Listing Service in Kirkland, which compiles information for 19 counties, reports the median sale price of single family homes and condos dropped nearly 10 percent to $315,000 in November.

Listings dropped nearly 2 percent and pending sales 28 percent, compared to a year ago.

The listing service says there are real estate "microclimates" where the market varies. Prices rose from a year ago in Cowlitz, Island, Okanogan, Pacific, San Juan and Skagit counties.

Brokers tell the listing service that the lowest mortgage rates in five years have created an opportunity for qualified buyers or homeowners looking to refinance.
