Man arrested after climbing on Monorail tracks

Seattle police have arrested a man who climbed onto the Monorail tracks near Westlake Center.

Seattle police have arrested a man who climbed on the Monorail tracks near Westlake Center.

Police negotiators convinced the man to come down at 10:19 a.m. but not before prompting the Monorail to stop running for several minutes.

Police were called about 10 a.m. after the man was spotted on the Monorail tracks at Olive Way and Stewart Street, police said. He was running back and forth on the tracks and at one point lay down on the tracks. The man will be examined by medics will likely be taken to Harborview Medical Center for a mental evaluation, police said.
