Suspect sought in fatal stabbing

Police were searching Sunday night for the suspect in a fatal stabbing of a South Seattle woman.

Seattle police officers responded to a call at 4:30 p.m. and found the woman dead at her home in the 7600 block of 46th Avenue South, said police spokesman Mark Jamieson.

Police did not release the names or other information about the victim or the suspect. Amber Campbell, a neighbor who publishes a local blog, said the victim had three children, ages 6, 13 and 15.

Campbell said she called police after coming outside her nearby house to find the children wailing in the street after discovering their mother's body inside their own home.

Campbell said that, according to the woman's children and other relatives at the scene, she and her husband had been divorced for a year.

Police have identified a teenager killed Thursday as he tried to run across Interstate 5 near Donald, in the Salem area, as 17-year-old Alan Bautista, of Auburn.

State police say they found Bautista's family at a nearby gas station, and they told troopers that the boy left the vehicle for unknown reasons and ran toward the freeway on Thanksgiving night.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man told police the robbers, all males 18 to 20 years old, were armed with a hammer and a knife.

Police say the victim was treated for cuts to his face and neck after Saturday afternoon's attack. The robbers were last seen running away with the groceries.
