PORTLAND — Authorities say they have shot to death one of two pit bulls that killed two other dogs and injured a third in southeast Portland.

The two pit bulls reportedly entered a yard Monday evening and attacked the three dogs.

When one of the pit bulls charged a police officer, it was shot and killed.

The second pit bull ran off, and officials at Multnomah County Animal Control say they are searching for it.
