Seattle police are investigating allegations by a 15-year-old Franklin High School student who says a boy tried to drag her into a bathroom and sexually assault her, while two of his friends held the door closed.
The three high school boys were arrested this week and later released, said police department spokesman Mark Jamieson.
The case will be forwarded to the King County Prosecutor's Office next week, which will decide whether or not to file charges, he said.
According to police, the victimwas walking with a friend Tuesday in the hallway after lunch when a male student "grabbed her by the wrist/arm and began to pull her into the boys restroom" against her will.
She told him to stop repeatedly, but he continued pulling and made a sexual reference to what he intended to do to her, according to a police report.
Meanwhile, the door to the restroom was being forced closed by two other boys, police said.
The girl kept telling the boy to stop and let her go, but he didn't. Eventually, she was able to twist free from the boy's grip, and run out of the bathroom, according to the report. She said she heard them following her. The girl and a friend reported the incident to school staff. Police arrived, took an initial report, and came back the next day, Jamieson said. Officers interviewed the suspects Wednesday and later arrested them.
"A crime did occur," Jamieson said. "Had it continued, it probably would have resulted in a sexual assault."
The victim did not suffer physical injuries, he added.
"We're glad we're aware of it and it was reported to us," Jamieson said. "We're doing a thorough investigation."
