Health officials told about 300 elementary students in Monroe to stay home Friday because of a chickenpox outbreak.

MONROE, Wash. —

Health officials told about 300 elementary students in Monroe to stay home Friday because of a chickenpox outbreak.

Several children came down with the illness at Salem Woods Elementary.

The Everett Herald reports students may return when they get vaccinated or provide written proof they are immune.
