KENNEWICK, Wash. —

About 30 Kennewick students will be in Washington, D.C., Jan. 20 when Barack Obama is sworn in as president.

Students from Highlands Middle School and Kamiakin High School are making the trip through the student travel organization World Strides. They'll also visit historic sites and monuments during the five-day trip.

The Tri-City Herald reports some of the students have been holding fundraising dinners and auctions to help pay for the trip, which cost about $2,000 per student.
