Delta, Alaska Air expanding marketing alliance

The CEOs of Delta Air Lines and Alaska Air Group called a news conference Monday at Sea-Tac Airport to announce they are expanding their marketing alliance.

SEATAC, Wash. —

The CEOs of Delta Air Lines and Alaska Air Group called a news conference Monday at Sea-Tac Airport to announce they are expanding their marketing alliance.

The airlines are expanding the code-sharing agreement that allows one airline to put its name on a flight operated by the other. The airlines expand their networks and share revenue without adding planes or employees.

After acquiring Northwest, Atlanta-based Delta now calls itself the world's largest airline, serving more than 100 markets.

Seattle-based Alaska Airlines and its regional airline Horizon Air serve more than 90 cities, mostly on the West Coast.
