Tanker spills buttermilk at Olympia

OLYMPIA — The Transportation Department says the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 have been reopened through Olympia where a tanker truck crash spilled buttermilk.

OLYMPIA — The Transportation Department says the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 have been reopened through Olympia where a tanker truck crash spilled buttermilk.

The truck collided with a pickup truck about 1:30 this morning near exit 105. Only minor injuries were reported.

The crash ruptured a tank and the department estimates about 1,000 gallons of buttermilk spilled.

There was an environmental cleanup but some the buttermilk — diluted by rain — reached Capitol Lake.
