ARLINGTON — A former principal of a private Christian school who is accused of sexually assaulting a student has been ordered jailed after the girl told detectives he's been sending her text messages.

Mark Evan Brown, 37, had been ordered not to have contact with the girl, now 15. Brown was charged in July with third-degree child rape.

He is accused of encouraging the girl to run away from home in June and sexually assaulting her in a room he set up for her, complete with a hide-a-bed and television, at Highland Christian School in Arlington.

Court documents say detectives reported the two exchanged hundreds of text messages before Brown was arrested for investigation of child rape.

A judge Friday issued a $500,000 bench warrant for Brown's arrest after prosecutors reported that Brown and the girl once again were exchanging text messages.
