Trucker killed on I-5 at Olympia

OLYMPIA — The Transportation Department says traffic is moving again on Interstate 5 through Olympia where a semi-truck driver was killed in a crash that spilled a load of produce on the highway.

OLYMPIA — The Transportation Department says traffic is moving again on Interstate 5 through Olympia where a semi-truck driver was killed in a crash that spilled a load of produce on the highway.

The department says the scene was cleared about 7:30 a.m. today, about seven hours after the truck struck the median near the Henderson Boulevard exit.

State Patrol Trooper Brandy Kessler says the driver, who had been on the job less than a month, was killed. A trainer who was in the sleeper compartment was injured and taken to a hospital.

Traffic in both directions was detoured while troopers responded to the crash and crews cleaned up produce that spilled.
