Vancouver teen gets 55-year sentence for murder

An 18-year-old gang member was sentenced to 55 years in prison for killing a rival gang member in Vancouver.

VANCOUVER, Wash. —

An 18-year-old gang member was sentenced to 55 years in prison for killing a rival gang member in Vancouver.

The teen, Orlin Campos-Cerna, asked for forgiveness at Tuesday's sentencing in Clark County Superior Court.

The Vancouver Columbian reports he was convicted of murder last month for the October 2007 shooting of a 34-year-old rival gang member, Jose Avila, who was shouting insults from his car at an intersection.
