Ohio challenge to Obama's citizenship tossed
An Ohio magistrate has rejected a challenge to Barack Obama's U.S. citizenship on the same day Hawaiian officials said there's no doubt Obama was born in Hawaii.
An Ohio magistrate has rejected a challenge to Barack Obama's U.S. citizenship on the same day Hawaiian officials said there's no doubt Obama was born in Hawaii.
Friday's ruling from Warren County Magistrate Andrew Hasselbach in southwest Ohio rejected the argument of Middletown resident David Neal that Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner should confirm Obama's birthplace or remove him from the ballot.
Judges in Seattle and Philadelphia recently dismissed similar suits.
Theories abound that the Democratic presidential candidate's birth certificate is fake and he was born abroad. But the Hawaiian health department director said Friday that she and the registrar of vital statistics have personally verified that the health department holds Obama's original birth certificate.
