WENATCHEE, Wash. —

About 1,500 people took their first look around Wenatchee's new multipurpose arena at Sunday's opening ceremony.

The Town Toyota Center will host Wenatchee Wild hockey games and Wenatchee Fire soccer games.

The developer, Global Entertainment, also plans to book concerts, rodeos, ice shows and other events.

The main arena seats 4,300. The ice can be covered to seat 6,000 for concerts, graduations, religious gatherings and trade shows.

The center includes a second rink for community hockey, curling and skating.
