PK Tynes inactive for Giants vs. Seahawks

Place-kicker Lawrence Tynes is inactive for the New York Giants' game against the Seattle Seahawks, leaving veteran John Carney to continue kicking for the Super Bowl champions.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. —

Place-kicker Lawrence Tynes is inactive for the New York Giants' game against the Seattle Seahawks, leaving veteran John Carney to continue kicking for the Super Bowl champions.

For Seattle, receivers Deion Branch (knee) and Bobby Engram (shoulder) were active Sunday for the first time this season.

Tynes, who kicked the game-winning field goal in the NFC title game against Green Bay, had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in August after hurting it in training camp. He felt on Friday that he would be able to play for the first time this season.

The 44-year-old Carney was perfect on nine field goal attempts and eight extra points in the first three games.

Seattle halfback Maurice Morris was inactive for the third straight week with a knee injury. Receiver Koren Robinson, who was signed about two weeks ago, also was inactive.
