Al Gore to raise money for WA Gov. Gregoire

Democratic Gov. Chris Gregoire's bid for reelection is getting a boost from former vice president and Nobel laureate Al Gore.

SEATTLE —

Democratic Gov. Chris Gregoire's bid for reelection is getting a boost from former vice president and Nobel laureate Al Gore.

The Seattle Times reports that Gore is scheduled to speak at a Gregoire fundraiser at the Sheraton hotel in Seattle on Oct. 24. Donations start at $150.

The 2008 governor's race is the most expensive in state history, now exceeding $19 million in contributions directly to the candidates - $10 million of that to Gregoire, and $9 million to her Republican challenger, Dino Rossi.
