Worker crushed by 1,000-pound crate near Everett

A worker has died after being pinned against a chain-link fence by a 1,000-pound crate full of glass south of Everett.

EVERETT, Wash. —

A worker has died after being pinned against a chain-link fence by a 1,000-pound crate full of glass south of Everett.

Firefighters say the accident happened Friday evening while the 35-year-old man was working at a manufacturing plant.

Snohomish County Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes says he and some other workers were moving the heavy crate when it toppled onto him.

Workers used pallet jacks to get the crate off the man and he was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, where he died.
