Expect major traffic disruptions this week at Sea-Tac airport

Ongoing construction to bring light rail to Sea-Tac airport in 2009 will cause significant detours and closures beginning at midnight Tuesday through through 7 a.m. Thursday.
These are the affected routes:
• Lower Airport Drive (baggage claim/arrivals level). Access to the lower drive will be reduced to one lane.
• The north entrance to the garage will be closed and traffic rerouted to the south garage entrance. Drivers arriving at the airport from the north will be detoured to south Highway 99 and the south garage entrance. Traffic leaving the garage will not be affected and will exit to the north as always at South 182 Street.
• Traffic heading from the cellphone waiting lot to the terminal will follow a detour route at South 182nd Street.
• All public buses (Metro Transit, Sound Transit, Pierce Transit) will pick up and drop off passengers on Highway 99. Public transit will not have access to the lower drive during this period
• The exit and entrance to the rental car area will not be affected.
This planned construction project is subject to weather.
