Car and body found in Seattle's Discovery Park
Officials are waiting for the King County medical examiner's office to determine whether a body found in a wrecked car in Seattle's Discovery Park is a missing Shoreline man.
Officials are waiting for the King County medical examiner's office to determine whether a body found in a wrecked car in Seattle's Discovery Park is a missing Shoreline man.
A group walking in the park Sunday evening noticed the car upside down in a ravine. When they saw the body inside they called police.
The car matches the description of a late-model Buick Century driven by Hilmer Jager (JAY'-gur).
The 79-year-old Shoreline man with dementia disappeared Aug. 22 when he drove away from home to visit a friend in the Maltby area of Snohomish County.
Jager worked more than 30 years as a letter-carrier in north Seattle neighborhoods.
