Talks continue in Bellevue teachers' strike

After taking a break on Sunday, negotiations are scheduled to resume in the Bellevue teachers' strike.

BELLEVUE, Wash. —

After taking a break on Sunday, negotiations are scheduled to resume in the Bellevue teachers' strike.

About 16,000 students have missed a week of school while the union for 1,200 teachers demands a bigger pay raise. The district says it can't raise its offer without cutting other spending.

The union reported Saturday that progress had been made on two other sticking points - health insurance coverage and scripted lesson plans.
