Federal Way Police have identified a suspect in Thursday's fatal shooting of a 26-year-old man outside Lakota Middle School.
Police say they have a felony arrest warrant for Luis F. Cosgaya-Alvarez, of Kent, and warn that he is armed and dangerous.
Cosgaya-Alvarez, 17, is also known as "Youngster" and "Junior." He has tattoos on his forearms with the words "Districto" and "Federal," and a "Playboys" tattoo on his back. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
Police typically do not name juvenile suspects but are doing so now because of the seriousness of the crime, said Federal Way Police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock.
Police say Cosgaya-Alvarez fatally shot the 26-year-old man at about 8:20 p.m. Thursday from a black SUV, which fled with several men inside.
A Junior Football League practice was just letting out, and about 20 people witnessed the shooting, police say. The shooting is not believed to be random.
"We don't know what their association was or what their dispute might have been, but it is clear based on witness accounts that the suspect did intend to harm the victim and did not intend to harm other people there," Schrock said. The King County Medical Examiners Office hasn't released the victim's name.
