Vader School demolished

The half-century-old old Vader School has been demolished.
The school between Centralia and Longview was reduced to rubble last week after two years of levy and bond election failures.
School officials say cleanup and debris removal will continue for a few days cleaning the site and hauling away the debris.
The school was condemned as unsafe by Lewis County officials in late 2006. The Vader School Board voted to dissolve the next spring after three levy and bond failures, and the Vader School District was absorbed by the Castle Rock School District.
The future of the land remains unclear. A Castle Rock School Board member, Glen Paget, has suggested offering the site for rental.
