The Whatcom County Sheriff's Office says it's investigating the drowning of a 3-year-old girl in her family's swimming pool near Sumas.
Sgt. Kevin Mede says the drowning occurred on Friday afternoon, July 18.
Her mother found the girl at the bottom of the pool at about 4 p.m. and performed CPR, but was unable to resuscitate the child.
