Ephrata judge says prosecutor can wear Purple Heart pin

A deputy prosecutor in Ephrata will be allowed to wear a Purple Heart lapel pin during a drunken driving trial.

EPHRATA, Wash. —

A deputy prosecutor in Ephrata will be allowed to wear a Purple Heart lapel pin during a drunken driving trial.

The defense lawyer, Garth Dano, had complained that the pin worn by Angus Lee, an Iraq war veteran, would influence jurors.

Grant County District Court Judge Richard C. Fitterer says he doesn't have a problem with the pin and denied the motion.
