Seattle man guilty in Montana fraud case
Sentencing is scheduled in October for a Seattle man who used a false credit report to get $24,000 in loans from a credit union in Billings.
Sentencing is scheduled in October for a Seattle man who used a false credit report to get $24,000 in loans from a credit union in Billings.
Forty-one-year-old Thomas J. Cosand pleaded guilty to federal charges of bank fraud this week in Billings, where he used to live.
Prosecutor Ryan Archer says the crimes occurred in 2004 when Cosand sought loans from the Billings Federal Credit Union. If Cosand had used his real credit report, Archer says, he would have been denied loans because he had too many bad marks -- including unpaid child support and repossession of vehicles.
