A team of federal and local fire investigators are looking into the estimated $1 million blaze that destroyed a building in downtown Everett on Wednesday night.
The team investigating the blaze consists of representatives from the federal Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, Everett Fire and Police Departments and the Snohomish County Fire Marshal, and the federal Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.
Firefighters were called to the Stewart Title Co., 2721 Wetmore Ave., around 9 p.m. Nobody was hurt.
Carl Jorgensen, president of the Stewart Title Co., says it has computer backups of its records. He said business is continuing to operate out of an office in Bothell.
Everett police spokesman Robert Goetz said the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
Witness Mark Anthony Hawkins, of Everett, said the fire sent "smoke billowing over the city for miles and miles."
