Medina police investigate car crash, fire

Medina police are investigating an early-morning car crash and fire on the Evergreen Point Road today.

Seattle Times staff reporter

Medina police are investigating an early-morning car crash and fire on the Evergreen Point Road today.

At about 2:20 a.m., police reported, a rental car traveling northbound in the 3600 block veered off the roadway and struck a large rock. After the driver, who apparently was lost in the area, pulled into a nearby driveway, the car caught fire. The flames also damaged another vehicle in the driveway, police added. The Bellevue Fire Department extinguished the blaze.

Two people fled the rental car and were later found walking near Hunts Point, where they were contacted by Medina police, although no arrests have been made.
