OLYMPIA — Initiative sponsor Tim Eyman is turning in signatures in Olympia on I-985.

The initiative would create a traffic congestion relief fund by tapping car sales taxes, red light ticket camera revenue, and the money set aside for art on transportation projects.

Eyman says he has 226,000 signatures for today's submission and hopes to collect 50,000 more by the Fourth of July to guarantee a spot on the November ballot.

The measure also would require cities to synchronize traffic signals and open car pool lanes outside rush hours.
