The 61-year-old co-owner of a garden-supply store that provided one-stop shopping for home pot-growing enterprises was sentenced Friday to 41 months in prison.

Le My Nguyen, who has been called a "matriarch of marijuana growers" in Western Washington, operated Kent Garden Supplies, which sold everything from prefabricated electrical boards used to bypass power meters to industrial-strength air scrubbers that remove the odor of large-scale pot-growing operations.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah Vogel noted that Nguyen admitted to moving more than $2.5 million in drug money that had been laundered through the garden shop.
