The search for a boy and a man following a boating accident on the Nisqually River has been suspended.
Thurston County Sheriff Daniel D. Kimball said Monday that 9-year-old Cameron McCartney and 32-year-old Bryan L. Pierce are considered dead.
They fell into the Nisqually on Thursday when a 16- to 18-foot motorized johnboat hit a logjam. The body of McCartney's brother, 5-year-old Sean McCartney, was found afterward.
None of the five people on the boat was wearing a life jacket. The operator, 42-year-old Vincent Farler of Olympia, and the boys' mother made it ashore. Farler is being held for investigation of three counts of homicide by watercraft and drunken boating.
