Weather Service issues late season heavy snow advisory

PENDLETON, Ore. —

Oregon officials say a spring snowstorm in Eastern Oregon has made driving dicey on Interstate 84.

The Oregon Department of Transportation says that conditions are almost a white-out between Pendleton and LaGrande.

It says heavy vehicles or those with a heavy tow are required to have chains.

The National Weather Service issued a snow advisory for Wallowa County and the Blue Mountains and said snowfall Tuesday would be 3 to 6 inches in the range. Forecasters say accumulations of up to 8 inches are possible on high peaks.
