Pedestrian struck by car in downtown Seattle
A 32-year-old man has been booked into King County Jail for vehicular assault after striking a woman as she crossed a street in Seattle Wednesday, police said.
The victim, 56, was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, said police department spokesman Sean Whitcomb.
The driver was traveling south on Fifth Avenue South at 12:41 p.m. As he attempted to make a left turn onto South Jackson Street, he hit the woman in the intersection, Whitcomb said.
"We believe that the driver may have been (intoxicated)," he said.
