The last special-election ballot of the season solved money issues for some school districts Tuesday night, but other districts were falling just short.
A $150 million bond issue in Renton was failing by a slight margin in early returns, just a tenth of a percentage point short of the 60 percent supermajority it needed. The bond issue, which got just less than 60 percent in March, would add classrooms to Hazen High School and remodel and upgrade other buildings and playfields.
Also trying to make up for a loss in March was a $261.6 million bond measure in the Snohomish School District. Ahead in early returns, but not quite cracking the supermajority, that measure would renovate Snohomish High School, build a new aquatic center and refurbish other buildings.
The Snohomish County ballot included a $139.2 million bond issue in the Mukilteo School District and a technology-replacement levy in the Edmonds School District. Both were passing.
The cities of Darrington and Lake Stevens each were considering whether to annex to the Sno-Isle Library District; both proposals were passing.
