Two charged in shooting on Interstate 90
A 31-year-old man from Tacoma and a 20-year-old woman from Malaga have been charged with first-degree assault after a car-to-car shooting on Interstate 90 in Eastern Washington.
The Kittitas County prosecutor's office charged Delilah Garaas and Eric Hernandez with four counts apiece.
They are accused of firing shots from their car at another car carrying four people on the freeway Sunday night about 15 miles west of Easton.
Bail for each is set at $1 million pending their May 27 arraignments.
Washington State Patrol investigators found that three bullets struck a 1992 Acura Integra driven by a 59-year-old Mount Vernon man. Also in the car were a 25-year-old man, a 5-year-old girl and a 3-year-old girl. The 3-year-old was treated for a minor cut caused by broken glass.
Trooper Rich Magnussen says the victims told investigators they were being followed too closely by a vehicle shining its high-beam lights. The victims later were attempting to pass the other vehicle when their vehicle was struck by three rounds.
The patrol says troopers found a gun under the driver's seat of the suspects' car.
