Three suspects have been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting that left two women wounded early this morning in Seattle's South Park neighborhood, police said.
The victims were described as being in their early 20s. One was shot in the foot and transferred to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The other woman was shot in the chest and lower body and transported to Harborview with serious injuries.
It's unclear what precipitated the violence, said Reneé Witt, police department spokeswoman.
Shortly after 3 a.m., police were called to the 1000 block of South Henderson Street for a fight disturbance, Witt said.
It was the second time that night officers were called to the area. Previously, they didn't see or hear anything, Witt said. But when they arrived again, shots rang out.
The two women were standing outside a house when the suspects drove by and "fired a number of shots at the home," Witt said.
Officers were able to locate a vehicle with the suspects — and recovered a hand gun — a short distance from the scene, she said. The male suspects, all in their 20s, were taken into custody without incident.
They are expected to be booked into King County Jail later this morning, Witt added.
