The Human Rights Torch Relay is coming to Seattle on Sunday. It is part of an international campaign that seeks to bring an end to human-rights abuses in China.
The Seattle Human Rights Torch Relay will feature a torch walk that will start at 10 a.m. at Hing Hay Park, 423 Maynard Ave. S., and end at Westlake Park, 401 Pine St., where there will be a concert and rally from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Saturday: Help improve local parks and trails, and learn about the Mountains to Sound Greenway. From 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at several area parks. PlantAmnesty Walking Tour of Belltown Gardens

May 15, 1911: The Orpheum Theatre at Third Avenue and Madison Street in Seattle opened to the public with an evening gala. Businesses and political leaders past and present were in attendance as manager John W. Considine formally opened what was billed as a "made in Washington" structure, an entertainment venue praised for extensive use of Northwest materials and Northwest craftsmanship.
