Seahawk Lofa Tatupu arrested in Kirkland on DUI
The Seahawks' defensive leader and three-time Pro Bowl linebacker Lofa Tatupu (LOH'-fuh toh-TOO'-poo) was arrested in Kirkland early Saturday for investigation of drunken driving.
An arrest report indicates he had breath tests of .155 and .158.
The arresting Kirkland police officer wrote that he saw a car driven by Tatupu speeding and changing lanes without signaling. When the officer caught up with him at a restaurant drive-thru he smelled alcohol, but Tatupu said he had not been drinking.
His car was impounded and Tatupu was taken to the police station where the breath test was conducted.
The Seahawks drafted Tatupu out of the University of Southern California in 2005. In March the team signed him to a $42 million contract extension.
