McChord AFB ready to help with Myanmar relief
McChord Air Force Base says it has two C-17 cargo plane crews on alert, ready to carry supplies to cyclone victims in Myanmar.
So far the government of the country formerly known as Burma has allowed the United States to fly only limited relief missions.
With its C-17 planes, a McChord commander, Col. Jeffrey Stephenson of the 62nd Airlift Wing, says McChord airmen stand ready to assist relief efforts if called upon.
