Fort Lewis soldier dies from injuries suffered in Iraq
A 19-year-old Fort Lewis soldier has died from wounds suffered in Iraq.
The Army says Pfc. Aaron J. Ward, who was from San Jacinto, Calif., died Tuesday. He was wounded by small arms fire during a "cordon and search" operation in Al Anbar province.
Ward was assigned to the 107th Military Police Company, which is part of the 504th Military Police Battalion, 42nd Military Police Brigade.
Ward had enlisted in the Army in April 2007.
