Auburn police have arrested two 17-year-old boys in connection with as many as 90 BB-gun incidents during a nearly one-hour span early Thursday morning.
Police said that just after midnight they started receiving reports of apartment and vehicle windows being shot out, said Sgt. Scott Near. At least two people saw the incidents and relayed a description of the shooters and their license-plate number to police.
Officers stopped a 2006 Kia Spectra in the 1800 block of Dogwood Street early Thursday morning and found two BB guns in the car, police said. The Auburn teens inside the car were booked into the King County Youth Service Center for investigation of vandalism, Near said.
Officers found damaged vehicles and apartments in the 2000 to 3300 block of Auburn Way South, as well as on 18th, 19th, 20th, Fir, Dogwood and Hemlock streets. The total damage was estimated at $15,000, Near said.
