Safeco presence to continue in Seattle after Liberty Mutual sale
A spokesman for Safeco says the impact on jobs has yet to be determined as the Seattle-based insurance company is sold to Liberty Mutual.
Spokesman Dave Monfried says the Safeco name will be maintained and it will have a presence in Seattle.
Monfried says the company has about 2,000 employees in the city, 3,100 statewide and 7,000 companywide. Boston-based Liberty Mutual has 41,000 employees.
Monfried says there's no impact on Safeco policyholders. They have the same guarantees.
He also says the name stays on Safeco Field.
