The third annual Earth Week Festival at North Seattle Community College will have more than 45 booths staffed by local farms, the food industry, local businesses and nonprofit groups. There also will be speakers from Seattle University, Phinney EcoVillage and GreenGlove Cleaning.
The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the college, 9600 College Way N., Seattle.

Earth Day Wine Tasting in Zoomazium

Statewide Earthquake Drill
Tuesday: This month is Disaster Preparedness Month, so government agencies, businesses, schools and citizens are encouraged to review response plans and procedures. April 21, 1962: The Century 21 World's Fair opened in Seattle and ran for 184 days. The 74-acre fairgrounds were at Seattle Center.

The World's Fair was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition, held in 1909 on the University of Washington campus.
Its theme was to consider possibilities about life in the 21st century.
